Charles Louis Wall

Charles L. Wall (Cdr. USN Ret.) died at Legacy Meridian Park Hospital on March 28, 2009 surrounded by his wife, five children, and grandaughter.

“Chuck” was born March 27, 1921 at Casey County, Kentucky. He graduated high school at Liberty, KY, earned a BS at Berea College, graduated US Navy Midshipmen School at Columbia University, and received his MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati.

His career as an officer in the US Navy spanned 23 years over which he commanded ships of the line in two wars and served as Assistant Comptroller of the Navy at the Pentagon. After the Navy he managed contracts for Computer Science Corporation.

In retirement his hobbies were salmon and deep sea fishing. He was also a Masterpoint Bridge Player and completed the newspapers’ crosswords daily. 

He is survived by Terry H. Wall, his wife of 62 years. Sons: Craig, Geoffrey, and Brian Wall. Daughters: Kathleen Wall and Tamarah W. Swick. He has six granddaughters: Tammarah and Jessica Wall, Ariel and Samantha Swick, Zoli Wall, and Malia Wall.

Burial will be at the Willamette National Cemetary at 1000, Friday, April 3. A reception will be held at Spring Ridge at Charbonneau in Wilsonville, OR at 1:30.

In lieu of flowers, his favorite charities are the Oregon Food Bank and the United Service Organizations,Inc. (USO).

Ethelyn Verniere Telford

Ethelyn Verniere Telford, 85, passed away on March 23, 2009 in Beaverton, Oregon. Ethelyn was born in Libby, Montana on September 27, 1923 to Charles and Blanche (Meehan) Hall.

Ethelyn married Donald Richard Telford and had three sons and one daughter.

Ethelyn is survived by her sons, Brian Telford, Wayne Telford, and Toss Telford; and daughter, Liz Brenny.

A Celebration of life will be held on April 11, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at the Surf Sand Resort in Cannon Beach, Oregon

Robert Grant Shubert

June 12, 1938 – March 23, 2009

Robert G. Shubert, 70, passed away on March 23rd.  Robert Grant Shubert  was born to Ludwig and Phebe Shubert on June 12, 1938.  As a child, he was a member of the Boy scout Troop #1 in New York, and attended High School in Unadilla, NY.  Robert moved to Portland in the 70’s, and was employed with Timberline Lodge for a while, and then he got a Chain Manufacturing position with Carlton Chain Manufacturing.  Some of Robert hobbies included hunting, fishing, and auctioneering. 

Robert is survived by his sisters, Elsa Lampron, Dorothy Burnheart, Esther Horstman, and Beatrice Judd.  Each of his sisters live in the state of New York.  Please send any donations in remembrance of Robert to Odyssey Hospice Center.

Jesse Rodrick Winslow

Jesse Rodrick Winslow, 50, passed away on March 18, 2009 in Beaverton, Oregon. Jesse also known as Jerry R. Blaylock was born in Gold Beach, Oregon on May 28, 1958 to Cecil and Nellie (Starkey) Blaylock.

Jesse worked as a building inspector for a constuction company.

Jesse is survived by his mother Nellie Harmon, and daughters Sheila Blaylock and Gennifer Gelpi.

Services will be held on April 4, 2009 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Christian Deaf Church at 7030 SE Holgate in Portland, Oregon.

Goldie Delma Barclay

Goldie Delma Barclay, 88, was born on December 24, 1920 in Aurora, Nebraska to John and Minnie Cunningham. Goldie passed away on March 17, 2009 in Milwaukie, Oregon.

Goldie was raised in Aurora and Grand Island, Nebraska. Goldie has lived in the Portland area most of her life, since she was 19 years old. She married Chet Barclay in July of 1972 in Portland, Oregon . Goldie was a homemake and raised her family here in Portland. 

Goldie is survived by her husband, Chet Barclay, daughters; JoAnne Stoddard , Dianne Schulte, and Karen Smith, sisters; Rosie Cunningham, Doris Noteboom, and Marguerite Cunningham.

Raymond Glenn Lippart Miller

Raymond (Ray) Glenn Lippart Miller  – passed away  on March 13, 2009 at 2:17 pm after an extended stay in the ICU at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
 
Raymond was  born in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 10, 1934 to Jesse and Lillian (Ferreira) Miller. Raymond was raised in Waianae, Oahu (Hawaii). Moved to Tigard, OR in 1979  where he lived with his wife, Gerry, and their two children.
 
Ray was a US Marine veteran who served in the Korean war.
 
In Hawaii, Ray worked in Construction for the Labor Union for several years. In Portland, he worked for Lord Brothers Construction in 1979-1981.  Later he moved back to Hawaii and retired as a Construction Foreman for Pan Pacific Construction where he worked on the Mauna Lani Hotel in Kona, Hawaii.  He returned to Oregon in 1983 and concluded  his professional  career went to work for the Tigard-Tualatin School District as a custodian (at Tigard High School).
 
Survived by Geraldine (Gerry), his wife of 44 years. Two daughters, Jessica Levin and Kia Heikkila; Son-in-laws: Mike Levin and Scott Heikkila; and one son: Raymond Miller Jr. Six grandchildren: Gabby, Marissa, Kaliona, Alexa, Stevie, and Tori, one brother: John Miller

Countless friends and family.

Glenn Tracy Gibbens, 82, passed away on March 10, 2009 in Newberg, Oregon. Glenn was born in Cando, North Dakota on June 25, 1926 to Tracy and Verna (Kohlmeyer) Gibbens.

Glenn married Edna Elizabeth Keightley.

Glenn is survived by son, Dennis Gibbens; daughter, Pam Paquet. Glenn is Preceded in death by his wife Edna Elizabeth Gibbens.

Linda Clement PhotoFINAL copyLinda Sue clement, 59,  of Newberg, Oregon passed away Monday, March 9, 2009. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. , at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Linda was born July 18, 1949 to Larry Emmett Pickett and June (Woodley) Milton. She married Steven D. Clement on November 8, 1980, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Linda was passionate about her family, gardening, sewing, and scrap-booking. Before becoming ill she also loved to camp with her family. She grew up in Klamath Falls and worked for Klamath First Federal until she retired in 1999, after suffering a heart attack. She lived in Medford from 2004 to 2007  and then She and Steve relocated in Newberg, Oregon.

Her strong faith in the Lord and the Catholic Church brought her joy and peace and grace to handle her illness over the last 10 years.

Linda is survived by her husband, Steven D. Clement of Newberg, Oregon;daughters, Christina Buhrig of Bend, Oregon, Lori Billings of Medford, Oregon; son, Chad Clement of Seattle, Washington; Stepdaughter, Krista Wainwright of Colorado; Grandchildren, Breanna and Stephanie Billings of Medford, Oregon; and Breanna and Chase Wainwright of Colorado; brother Bill Pickett of Klamath Falls, Oregon; sister, Kathy Paxton of Medford, Oregon.

She is receded in death by her father, Larry Pickett; mother, June Melton; and her stepfather BJ Melton.

“Mom, the light in your eyes and the sound of your laughter will be in our heart forever. We love and miss you.’

Boris worked as a  Electronics engineer.

Boris is survived by his son Victor Lituczy. Boris is preceded in death by his wife Nadia (Turowetz) Lituczy.

Donna Sue Burkhart, 61, was born on November 14, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas to Samuel and Mabel Scott. Donna passed away on March 1, 2009 in Portland, Oregon.

Donna was raised in Wichita until 1982 when she moved to San Francisco, California where she lived til 1990. In 1990 she moved back to Kansas and attended Wichita State University where she graduated in 2000. Donna moved to Oregon in 2002 and lived in Beaverton and the Hillsboro.

Donna is survived by her son Joel Burkhart of West Chester, PA; daughter, Lindsey Elliss of Haysville, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald Wayne Burkhart.
