Sheryl Louise Deckard

Sheryl was born and raised in Lakeview, Oregon and moved to Salem in 1964 after graduating from Lakeview High School. She then attended Merit Davis.

She married John Perry Deckard, Jr. on May 21, 1966 and together they raised 2 children.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, painting, and traveling.

Sheryl was employed by the Department of Revenue with H&R Block for 35 years. She was also a member of the Letter Carrier Auxiliary.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of almost 53 years, John Perry Deckard, Jr.; Daughter and Son-in-law, Tina and Mark Knospe; Granddaughter, Kailey Knospe; Son and Daughter-in-law, Steven and Bobbie Jo Deckard; Granddaughter, Amanda Deckard; and Grandchildren, Katie, Jason and Andrew Aljets and Dakota Withrow.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Alfred and Esther Lillian (De Shazer) Getty.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 19th, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the American Legion 4774 Lilac Lane NE.

Please bring an appetizer, finger-food, or dessert to share.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Willamette Valley Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
