Candle lit by Terry Ann Rohe I hadn't seen Jim LaBarre in many years but am sorry to hear he passed away. We were friends in college and for a few years after, part of a group that had such good times together. He was very knowledgeable about classical music and I remember that he told me about Holst's "The Planets" and some other pieces with which I was unfamiliar when I was in my early twenties. I know talking with Jim in those early days influenced my music choices for the better. His favorite composer when he was in his twenties was Dvořák, and the New World Symphony was high on his list.
