Lloyd Raymond Wright

Lloyd passed away at his home in Oregon City at the age of 85.  Born in Chico, California to Daniel H. & Lydia E. Wright, he was raised in Garibaldi and West Linn, and graduated from West Linn High School. He went on to serve his country as a soldier in the US Army towards the end of WWII.  Lloyd married Lydia E. Gage on November 28th, 1954, and in 2004 Lloyd surprised Bette on their 50th wedding anniversary by arranging for the renewal of their vows.  He worked as a machinist in the mechanical research and development industry, and enjoyed being a craftsman in his spare time, including woodworking.  He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping and hiking.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bette, and by his son Larry (Bettie) of Roseburg, OR and daughter Linda (Bill) Erickson of Oregon City.  He is also survived by his brother Jack (Janet) Wright of Oregon City and brother Gib (Tag) Wright of Tillamook, OR.  His surviving grandchildren include Jerald Winfrey of Tigard, OR, Rachel Erickson of Oregon City, Kyle Erickson of Oregon City, Daniel Wright of Roseburg, OR, Patty Smoot-Brown of LaGrande, OR, Mary Beck of LaGrande, OR.  He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Lydia, Emily, Alex, Nikolas, Savannah and Annabelle, and his brother-in-law Frayne Williams of Logan, UT.  He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Jeanette Williams.

A celebration of life for Lloyd will be held at a future date.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell House Hospice, 6171 SW Capitol Highway, Portland, OR  97239.
